Door Speaker Replacement 6.5" to coaxials?
Had the Rockford Fosgate P1650 2 way full range speakers and a Rockford Fosgate R300 50 Watts x 4 Amp professionally installed and wow !! this setup sounds great. The amp came with a factory measured 402 watts RMS and its running at about 50% to the speakers producing very crisp highs, nice deep lows with a little thump, excellent mid range and I'm very impressed. Everything from Steve Rothery The Ghosts of Pripyat to Jethro Tull Aqualung sounds incredible, Dave Mathews with Tim Reynolds and anything else I have plugged into the stock CD player as well. The stock speaker grills were maintained and all wires are hidden, so you can’t tell any difference from the stock base system until you turn it on, and then wow !! this setup sounds great.

I used the stock base system radio and 6 CD changer that came with the 1999 XJ8, wires were converted to RCA cables and run from radio to amp, then to speakers.
This was a budget upgrade in that all four Rockford Fosgate P1650 speakers can be had for 104.00 total, the Rockford Fosgate amp for 129.00, install kit 60.00 and labor to install with RCA converter included for 190.00. So my total was 483.00 and I am very pleased with my investment. The guy who did my install said it was more work than expected, had originally quoted me 150.00 but I had an extra 40.00 on me so I gave him 190.00 and he was satisfied.
It would be easy to spend more than twice what I did but to my aging ears and thin wallet this was just what I needed and really does sound great :-)
