By drip rail I mean the chrome piece that goes above the doors on the edge of the roof. I am specifically talking about the rubber/plastic piece that goes inside that chrome strip. This rubber/plastic piece is what actually slides inside a channel on the chrome and snaps to the car to keep the chrome in place.
Here is my issue:
The rubber/plastic has dry rotted and pieces of it have somehow broken out and disappeared over time. The problem is that the drip rail drips! I can't find anywhere to buy a new rubber/plastic piece. If I had a new rubber/plastic piece, I would slide it into the chrome piece and pop it back onto the car. No rust issues, just dry rot and brittle plastic.
Body shop, check with a body shop. Most are pretty friendly about doling out advice and while your there, I'd ask for a quote to put it in, just to see if you think its worth the money. You could check with a glass company also, they tend to be higher priced, but if they have and you need it, welllll.....
