Default Drivers window and moonroof quit

My 2000 Jag will at times, cease to power the driver door glass up or down. At the same time the moonroof will close and not stay open if I power it open. I simply do a hard reset on the negative battery cable and its fine for about a month or so. It was happening virtually every week until I lubed all the door latches? If I locked the car with the remote, the front passenger door would not fully lock which then triggered the alarm. Now all the power locks work but this hard reset has to be done? Should I pull the door card off the right front door and lube it again or should I replace the lock solenoid in that door?

Pull fuse #15 from drivers side rear heel board & reinsert. This resets the drivers door control module.

I had had the exact same problem on my XJ8 and took negative battery cable off and touched it to the positive battery side.

Waited a few minutes and reconnected the cables and window and roof worked again. So far no further issues.

As stated above, I've done the hard reset multiple times and the issue returns. less often now but why? "heel board" please please explain?

By heal board he means at the front of rear seat, below seat to floor, is a panel that can be removed on both seat sides with a fuse box behind each. Remove the drivers side panel and on the top row of fuses, about third one towards center from door will be a blue 15amp fuse. He is suggesting removing and reinstalling that fuse to reset after making sure its a good fuse and not blown I figure.

I would also add to check and possibly replace ground cable from battery to passenger side of trunk. I had a problem with that same fuse blowing on me frequently, which would effect mirror and stearing column adjustment as well as interior lighting, plus I also had an occasional total battery power loss to everything that would resolve after wiggling that cable. I had the original braided cable which looked fine but was not. I made my own super heavy duty ground cable for something like twelve dollars instead of buying the stock replacement for seventy plus and all problems went away.

It used to happen to me. It usually happened after I would unlock/lock the door with the key instead of the remote. Then I started making sure that I turned the key back slightly before pulling it out, so it was in its neutral position. Hasn't ever happened since then.
By the way, simply removing the negative cable for a few minutes is sufficient. No need for the hard reset.

Honestly, it sounds like you need a new battery.
I had the same issue when I first got mine, kept doing the battery reset to fix it but it kept coming up again, with other random glitches. Put a new battery in and hasn't happened since.

I have a new battery always on a tender & still encounter it sporadically. I figure there's a surge/short or something going on w/ my driver's window switch pack. The pull the fuse trick works for me.
