DTC P0172 and P0406
?I get these two codes intermittently, even a RP at one time.
I have an idea what they are.
Should I try fuel injector cleaner first?
The 0406 was listed as fuel level sending unit problem.
I better get gas!!

Hi
Look at this other thread on P0406 DTC (post# 2 issued resolved by clean throttle plate):
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...e-p0406-37677/
I would try cleaning Throttle body and its electrical contacts, also MAF.
Here is a PDF about cleaning Throttle body, MAF and the Part Load Breather (for XK8, but most of it also applies to XJ8) 2 links (try #1 first, if no go, use the second weblink):

This PDF file was on the Max Performance Cars website (the website does not seem to be online anymore).
When I tried to add this PDF as an attachment here on the forum, it failed to upload (2.68 MB).

Hi Antony
Another thread that mentions P0460 recommended to have a full load test on your battery.
Apparently the battery can cause the ECU to generate a P0460 DTC code.
