Hey guys.

Drove to my local town today (about 15 miles) and everything was fine, mrs did 3 hrs worth of shopping and went back to car. as soon as car started i got message restricted proformance and a red warning light on dash. Had no choice but to drive home slowly.
Had a coffee then went out to see if i could see a problem, started the car and no warning or light, everything back to normal. Took car for test drive and still all normal.
Any ideas please?

 

As these vehicles age, the frequency of posts similar to yours increases significantly. It may just be an electronic gremlin, but it's worth having you battery checked. A battery can be healthy enough to start the engine, but still cause strange side effects.
If you know someone with a code reader, have them check for stored codes. Buying an inexpensive code reader is a good idea.

The daemons. The terrible daemons! Put a crucifix in the glove-box and leave it there - I find it's the only way. Or else it's probably the battery. Was it ever replaced?

 

will check the battery in the morning and replace i think, dont know when last done only had car a week :-).
