Default Engine Mounts....any other choice beyond OE

Sorry for the multiple threads on my silly project, but with the heads off, I'm staring at the tops of my motor mounts which would make swapping them about as easy as it gets. I've already committed to a lot of coolant hoses and other parts, so a few extra bucks is not an issue.

That said, it seems like the only choices on engine mounts are URO with its iffy reputation and OE. I'm wondering if anyone has either a different good option, or thoughts on whether one must absolutely go oe. The originals around $230 or so each, which would cause me to reconsider replacing them as I believe they are in good shape.

Thanks again guys, your help has been very useful.

Or Good used....anyone on here breaking an x308 atm?
I thought I had a suspension knock, a bar on everything but could not find any play - it was at low speed, both engine mounts shot at 100K bolts had stretched.

The reason they're pricey is because you drive a Jag!.....no seriously they're a fluid filled damping unit. Not just a rubber mount.
The obvious way to tell if they're indeed shot is a flashlight on the inside of the chassis rails directly beneath them, if there's signs of a leak then they're done.

I recommend OE new mounts. It's not an easy part to replace, so once you're there, do it right so you only have to do it once. I also HIGHLY recommend replacing the subframe bushings. You will find that the subframe bushings are shot too, which will cause clunking and alignment issues because the geometry is off slightly. It's a little more involved, but depending on how shot the bushings are, you might not ever be able to get the alignment correct. That was true on my 98 XJR anyway. The alignment numbers are all spot on perfect after I did the subframe bushings and engine mounts.

just put the uropoor in there and move on to better things. i have urotrash mounts in my s-type r they’ve been fine for like 20k

if your bushings are not split in half and there isn’t an idle shake it is unlikely they are original

appreciate the link. I'm going to assume based on price, however, that they are the URO ones.
