Default engine swap

hello, I have a 2002 xjr with a bad engine the # 1 and 2 cyl have gone south. Pulled the engine and found the crank to be in bad shape and the webbing on the block gone where the connecting rods took it out.
I have a 1999 xjr with a good engine that I've been using as a parts car, my question is the block the same on both engines?
thanks

The 1999 XJR uses the AJ26 engine management and the 2002 uses AJ27 (look at the differences in the throttle bodies).

You need to find a good 2000 to 2003 XJR or 2000 to 2002 XKR engine for direct fit.

The blocks are probably the same except that the 1999 block has Nikasil liners which may require different piston rings. Of course, if you are transplanting the 1999 block complete with its pistons, then you are fine in this respect. Someone will hopefully be able to inform whether there any other differences in the engine blocks only.
