Default Exchange Supercharger Units.......

I'm considering offering an exchange rebuilt unit for the 4.0 engines.

I will require your old Eaton in exchange.

New needle roller bearings + correct high temp grease.
New nose bearings better specification than o.e.m.
New upgraded coupler.
New correct fluid.
polished lobes.

additional work
Power-coat colour, for example, brilliant silver, gun-coat etc.
Polish and porting - matched to the square gasket, will need top plate to polish (also exchange).
Smaller front pulley in stainless steel 2.5/3lb boost, +35bhp, (but realistically higher torque at lower revs).

They will come with a warranty against work carried out.

Prices to follow once I work out services/parts/labour.

Any interest?

No problem Ross....It would be a case of centralizing the shipping

I'd need someone who'd be willing to deal with the shipping to/from the USA, if I can find a willing person to make it possible, I'd supply the rebuilt superchargers.

Shipping contractor will be UPS.

I have been looking round the web there is a vast difference in the price for the replacement parts needed. But i come across a company that can supply all the parts required for rebuilds and they also do discount on bulk orders

Used Eaton superchargers for Jags are few and far between and are costly before they are even refurbished, there isnt a great profit margin after buying parts and hours of labour.

Of course if you can find a few Eatons to start with you could be onto a winner,as it doesnt take very long to refurbish a unit and you could do quite a few in a day if the demand deems so.

Nose cone bearings, rotor bearings, refill oil, rotor bearing grease, snout seal & refill plug can be easily sourced in the UK.Couplings would need to be sourced from elsewhere.

But i am working on that problem at the moment.

I'm actually more interested (in the short term) in fitting a Gen 5 Eaton M112. My understanding is that our gen X308s and X100 were all fitted with the Gen4. The Gen5 had the abradable coating- which tightens up clearances. I witnesses these giving about a 6% increase in performance on the dyno. That will take a 370 bhp XJR to near-as damn-it 400 bhp with no other mods. My concern from the above is 'polishing the lobes'. This seems to be in the opposite direction- philosophically to what Eaton did and the more favourable results I saw. Just some thoughts.

No interest from this forum, but I'd bet a facebook page would get orders. I originally offered this because I had rebuilt a few of units ready for exchange, all gen5's will smaller pulleys, all sold a long time ago. More of a hobby, no way a business, I liked working on them.
I run a gen 5 with polished rotors, speaking to some very good supercharger guys in the USA once the coating is gone I couldn't source the special processing to put this back on, polishing gives better air management that's all, the coating creates a boundary layer.
All gen 5's will have cracked, flaking paint about now - that gets inhaled into the engine, so my answer is to strip it unless there's been an advance in 'drop in shop' PVD specialists. I may go looking, as 6% is worth getting back, I have another 3 Gen 5's to rebuild at some point, so it could be worth looking into.
