Default Failsafe Engine Mode Help!!

I own a 2001 Jaguar XJ8 and all of a sudden I tried to start my car and it wouldn't catch. After I relieved the key into just electronic mode it said "Failsafe Engine Mode". I pulled the key out, put the car into neutral and started it and it started just fine. Now all I can do to start my car is to put it into neutral to start it, otherwise it'll just whine and say "Failsafe Engine Mode". I hooked it up to a machine and the default P1111 code came out, it reads nothing else. No one so far has known what the cause is, help please!

See the list for P1517, park neutral switch malfunction

it includes shift cable adjustment, dual linear switch and wiring to the ecm.

The telltale signs are no click from the shifter interlock when brake pedal is depressed and/or P/N not illuminated on the shift gate.
