Exclamation fans still work when i turn the ac off

I have a jaguar xj8 and when i turn on the ac the fans start to work (as expected) , then when i turn off the ac (even immediately) the fans will not stop working until i turn off the engine (note: the car is still cold). I turn off the engine and set the key to ON and the fans start to work again. The fans will not stop working unless i let the engine off for about 10 mins. Any ideas?

Note: Also when i set the ac to circulate air from inside the car in about a minute it sets by itself the ac to insert air from outside. is that normal???

Not sure about your fans, but if you push and hold the recirculate button until it beeps, it should stay on recirc, at least until you shut the car off and re-start.

Sometimes mine stays on recirc after a start and stop and sometimes it does not. Pushing and holding the recirc button is now part of my start up procedure.

I am sure the fans are on a timer circuit, that would make sense, may be nothing is wrong. ???

Wow, learned a new Jag trick about holding down the recirc button - mine shuts off after a random amount of time, typically at least 10 minutes but sometimes it just stays on - never knew why but figured it was a sensor somewhere that thinks I want that (I don't - it often does it just when I'm behind a dirty-diesel...)

I think there was a "Jag 308 secrets" or "things you didn't know about your Jag" thread a while back, if not then we should start one!
