flat battery

Default flat battery

when i went to my car the battery was so flat that boot lid wouldnt even pop on fob, had to use the key, and now the car wont start, engine turns over but wont fire, do i need to reset anything as the battery was so flat, eg ecu or alarm? and if i do how do you do it?

thanks in advance for any advice

I assume, but you didn't say, that you charged the battery.

Everything will probably reset just fine but it doesn't hurt to completely reboot all systems by removing the negative cable at the battery and touching it to the positive battery terminal. That will completely drain all the little left over electrons and completely restart everything.

hi test point, thanks for that, no i havent been able to recharge the battery, i will have to replace it, but want the car running to take it to the garage to get them to change it, as i am in a wheel chair and cant lift it

The battery/starter is capable of spinning the engine while dragging the voltage below the approximate 10V required for the electronics. You are going to have to either charge the battery in place or jump it to a charged battery.
