Default foldaway door mirrors help

i'm working my way through the small jobs before i part with the car , and the penultimate job is the mirrors ...

when i press the button to make them fold in , only the passenger side folds away . but when i press again to move back to normal driving position it goes all the way around , and the driver's side decides to join it in its new position !!

from then on they both operate in sequence , but dont stop at the driving position .
its either folded all the way in , or folded all the way out .
i have to press the button , then grab the mirror as it passes the driving position and wrestle them into position !!
is this an easy fix ??

i've never used the "parking mirrors" feature , but its the only thing on the car that isnt working as it should so i would like to fix it .

What is your vehicle model/year? I am not familiar with this feature.

same as yours .
with the mirror selector switch set to neutral (centre) , VERY briefly press "down" on the mirror control switch
this should fold your mirrors for parking .

Interesting... mine do nothing when performing the actions as you described. Is this an optional or a stock function?
