After 3 stops Sat. morning, couldn't start the car.

Had to tow. Fuel pump went.

Service place replaced pump, filter and strainer, total of 800.00.

Awesome engineer who lives in his parents basement that designed a fuel pump and located it in the gas tank.

Definitely a great case for sterilization.

Unfortunately, since the change to computer controlled multi-point fuel injection, there aren't very many cars that DON'T have a high pressure fuel pump in the tank with similar difficulties in replacement... blame the technology and the need to keep cost in check, not the engineers.
