Default G-Force Performance Chip

Anyone had any experience or have any opinions on the G-Force Performance Chip? I have added a link to their site - They promise amazing things. Snake oil?

Thanks

I call complete, total, outright, BS based on their write up-
"plug(s) into the IAT sensor... The unit is then able to reprogram the ECU thus improving your car's performance. "
There is NO mechanism, to reprogram anything thru the analog input connected to the input aitr temperature. What can be done is modifying the air gas curve by fooling the ecu with the wrong input air temperature. It' a pretty good bet you neither want to richen or lean the mixture over the entire engine torque speed curve, and a "chip" connected to those two wires has no chance of knowing when to lean or richen from the factory curve.
Selah.

It's simply a resistor to change the IAT temperature measurement (as spark says above)... i love the picture of the multi-pin DIP integrated circuit package - certainly not what they're giving you.

It is worthless.

I've seen this same thing tied to big bucks for semi trucks.that like QM stated, fools the computer by giving an altered reading (resistor) ...(they call it a chip) thereby dumping more fuel across the board into the mix....Save your money!

When I first heard about these 6-8 years ago on Ebay, I went about building my own and saving the $39 at that time. One of the sites mistakenly left a link for the installation instructions and diagrams of their "CHIP", so I downloaded them. I saw what was shipped and found it to be a simple Resistor and two wires. I then went to Radio Shack with the specific Ohm specs they listed for my vehicles at that time. Only difference was that I was paying around 10 cents each for these instead of $39.

Long story short, I tested on both of my vehicles at that time, and found ZERO benefit with them installed over them not being installed in either performance or mileage. It's a scam that keeps surfacing occasionally.

These are just my opinions, but they do include some testing.

I'm pretty sure that if you could get the gains mentioned on their Technical Information page, that manufacturers would spring for the 10 cents to include them in EVERY car sold. They would be able to claim better mileage, performance, AND CO Emissions? Yeah, pretty sure they'd be all over that.

By the way, Fairlane500, I'm not knocking your question. They do have a nice, seemingly factual site there. It's very convincing.

Here is a good video showing what's inside the more advanced "CHIPS" out there. It's still a resistor, with the exception that it's adjustable.

No offence taken. I appreciate the wealth of advice. I suspected the same, and you all have confirmed my suspicions. Thanks all!
