What's the correct part # for genuine Jaguar Oil Filter for a 2003 XJ8 Vanden Plas? When I go to these online auto parts places, they give out two different part numbers and not sure what reseller is correct. Thanks

 

The part number should be EAZ1354

 

I read somewhere, and I thought it was in this forum, that the genuine Jaguar Oil Filter has a one-way valve to keep oil from fully draining back to the pan (I presume). For this reason the poster was advising to use only the Jag brand filter to avoid problems at startup.

Any corroboration of this or known problems with using Fram or other third-party filters?

 

Mahle and also Mann make good filters for the Jag. There is also a European made Fram that seems well constructed.
I wonder who makes the dealer filter?

 

Probably WIX. They make about 80% of the auto oil filters in the US.

 

I use WIX,the cat number for your car is I believe to be 51228.I have take both filters apart and they ae about the same I just like WIX because is is easier for me to order.
