Default Growler key wont work after new battery in car

I recently had my battery changed and since then, my other plain looking keys work, but not the key with the Jag Growler on it. It turns on the car, ie. goes all the way to the start position, turns on lights, radio etc, locks and unlocks the car even, but it wont actually start the car. Any ideas?

Check the ECM and see if P1260 is logged as a DTC. That is the code for KEY NOT RECOGNIZED.

Take your car to a chain auto parts store IE Auto Zone,Advance Auto,Pep Boys etc. & have them pull your engine's codes. It's a free service, report back w/ your findings, good luck !

It does not matter what key is in the ignition, the fault is already logged in the module if that is the issue.

Default growler key

Muti007, what did you find out about any codes entered into the computer preventing you from starting the car?

Dealer wanted $200 something, Abacus reprogrammed both (need to do both) for about $100, but some of that was for trying to program a new valet key that the dealer had sold me (wouldn't program).
