ok guys, i've used sf in my lincoln town car, and have had amazing results.... Now i am not telling anybody what to do (don't hold me responsible) when i bought my vdp i put a 3rd in the tank and noticed better acceleration. Weeks down the line i got the ***** to try in the crank case prior to changing the oil (i put a 3rd in), good amount of muck came out with the oil (i ran with it in there for 2 days). Just last sunday i ran it through the vacum line on brake booster (i put a 3rd in... Didn't let the engine shut off) got the usual smoke and that was about it.... My results was improved acceleration, increased fuel econ, and engine air flow

I ran a can through my 04 XJ8 the other day and the clouds of smoke were literally opaque.

As my Jag was meticulously maintained by the previous owner (just bought it with 145,000 on the clock), I thought that there wouldn't be much smoke due to a clean engine.

The thing was billowing smoke for a good 5 minutes, and continued to smoke heavily, although not as much, for another 5 minutes after that.

I can't say that I've noticed any significant changes with the Jag, which is weird, because on all of my previous vehicles, the Seafoam made a HUGE difference in throttle response, idling, and fuel economy.

The smoke you saw was simply the seafoam burning off. You can't have a smoke and mirror show without smoke

I am not sure how it would work with a modern fuel injected engine, but my father and many other rodders have been pouring water in their carburetors to clean carbon deposits from their engines. The premise being that the water turns to steam and basically steam cleans the engine. Not sure how this would work with a modern car especially with cats downstream. Would hate to dislodge that stuff from the engine and then it might clog up the cats. Not sure what exactly is in seafoam but I would guess that they are probably going for the same type of idea. Like others though, I am not so sure I would try it in my baby.

Modern EFI engines built to tight tolerances and operated on unleaded fuel do not accumulate deposits at even 1/100th the rate of engines from the 60s.

The days of 'blowing out the carbon' are long gone. Waste of money trying to fix something that's not broken.
