Removal is posted on the boards. Remove grill, painted trim and headlight assemblies. Wash with glass cleaner. Not sure about HID, reflectors may not be set up for them. I use Philips Night Guide bulbs, good performance.

Default JTIS extract for Headlamp Assy r&i

Here are the 4 PDF files I created from JTIS information on Headlamp Assembly r&i
1) High beam Headlamp 86.41.34 r&i.pdf
2) Headlamp Assembly 86.41.33 r&i.pdf
3) Radiator Grille 76.55.03 r&i.pdf
4) Radiator Grille Bezel 76.55.15 r&i.pdf
Please Note that the Headlamp Assembly 86.41.33 calls out a section for Headlight Trim Panel 76.11.23
I could not find this section in my JTIS

Helps if you use a penetrating oil on the nuts nad bolts, and do after the car has come off a run, warm engine compartment, cold plastic breaks easy, I've not seen one without a repair.

You can buy H7 adaptors now for the bulbs - HID install thread on here is excellent, use the search.
Good luck!

Does anyone have diagram for a 1998 vanden plas fog lamp assembly? My left fog lamp is swinging back and forth. It looks like the bottom adjustable assembly is damaged.

Default 98 XJ8 Front Fog Lamp R&R info

Hello
I extracted the Fog Lamp Remove and Install procedures from my JTIS CD into this PDF. There are 4 pages in this file. The 1st Page gives illustrations and steps to remove the lamp, also calls out the procedure to Remove Splash panel that is on page 3 in this PDF.
Here is the attached PDF file Jaguar XJ8 Front Fog Lamp R&R.pdf
I hope this is what you wanted. If not let me know and I will try to get you the information.

Thank you Jim. Just as I suspected, the plastic moulding on the bottom of the fog lamp is damaged.
