Default Headroom?

I thought I wanted an XK8, but find that it has too little headroom with top up.

Now looking at an '03 XJR, though I can't see it until this weekend. Published headroom dimension is 36", which is smaller than my wife's Passat by almost four inches.

Can that be correct? Can anyone over 5'10" comfortably drive these cars?

I'm 6'3" and fit comfortably, but have always driven most any vehicle with quite a bit of seat recline, perhaps because of my height. Any car with sunroof (which all 308's have) has been a little close for me... the Jag is better than many, IMO.

I'm 6'1" and have no headroom problems in the x308s. My seat is adjusted all the way down.

Just for comparison, I am not comfortable in an XK8 or XKR, they are a little too claustrophobic for me.

I'm 6'0 and I occasionally bonk my head when getting in my X308. I did have surgery on my neck vertabrae, so my neck doesn't bend as easily as it used to. But I still love the looks of the car, and like it much better than the newer taller X350. Once I'm in it fits like a glove.

I'm in exactly the same situation - would love to get an XJR but it seems to be built for pixies !!??

I’m 5’11” and fit just fine, but my XFR does have more headroom.

you need to tilt it all the way back and lay down like you’re on a movie theater recliner. im 6’4 and it’s fine

xk on the other hand…not happening

Exactly. No fun driving, and not exactly safe or comfortable on a long trip, when you need to be driving in a reclined position.
