Default Heater hose replacement

Jaguar replaced all the hoses on my 1999 VDP 10 years ago. Since then I have only driven 23,000 miles. The hoses look fine but age might have taken its toll. Does anyone know if it is age or usage that is the factor in replacing hoses? Thank you for your feedback.

It's both. A forty year old hose that's on a collector car is probably no good, even though the car is hardly ever run.

Your hoses at ten years are probably good, but you can tell better by checking when the engine is hot and see if any appear swollen.

Thank you I will check for signs of failure when the engine is hot.

On the other end, when the engine is cold, check the hoses like you would hot. That being... squeeze them, bad ones when hot older and have mileage will be mushy, bad ones when cold and not that many miles will be somewhat brittle and you may hear crackling or get flaking.
