Default Hose Clamp Pliers?

Greetings All,

Does anybody have a recommendation for tools for the flat band clamps on the cooling system hoses on our cars? I was locked in mortal battle with them yesterday, using long needlenose and other assorted pliers.

Lisle offers these, but the ends look rather bulky for access in tight spots:

OTC (and others) offer a cable style, but these only work at a right angle to the hose:

Thanks for any suggestions.

The constant tension hose clamps are better for the plastic couplings as they cannot be over tightened, but they can be difficult to remove or even move.

The first set are good, while the second image is for clamps in really tight places. Both should work fine if designed for the flat version of the clamps.

I did a little more poking around. I've ordered these two, as they had the most compact heads among all the different brands, plus I've had good results with other Gearwrench products.

Amazon.com: GearWrench 3976 Straight Hose Clamp Pliers: Automotive Amazon.com: GearWrench 3976 Straight Hose Clamp Pliers: Automotive

Amazon.com: GearWrench 3977 Angled Hose Clamp Pliers: Automotive Amazon.com: GearWrench 3977 Angled Hose Clamp Pliers: Automotive

After they arrive, I'll let you know how they work. Fingers crossed.
