Default Hello Chaps....I'm Back!!

Hello Chaps,
Some of you may remember me from a couple of years back, I had my XJ8 4.0 which I rebuilt after an accident into a new body. Anyway, in mid 2012 I decided to buy a Diesel powered X type as I needed to save some £££. Well I put my XJ for sale, and 18 months later I still have it.

I have had kept the car in "Care and Maintenance" whilst I've had it laid up, which includes a valet once a month and the engine run to operational temperature and the car given a run.

But then a month ago my Dad's car broke, so I loaned him my X Type and I used my XJ8 whilst his car was at the mechanics. That was longer than planned, and I ended up using the car for 3 weeks as my daily driver. This is when I realised that my XJ8 is just that, MY XJ8. It feels so right for me to be driving the car, it suits me so well and I enjoy every drive, even if it's just round the corner to the Chippy.

So I will now keep my XJ and dispose of the X type, which is a car I've never really enjoyed anyway.

So I'm back at my old haunt to help out fellow XJ owners, and generally keep an eye on the X308 world.

S.

Yep, old habits die hard of course, already used him to tow, carry a roll of lino and 2 bedside cabinets . We'll be across to see you and your Dad soon.

I'll answer this one, a 'Ye olde english fish and chip shop' with finest maris piper potato chips and cod in batter, with salt and vinegar and sliced white bread - the food of champions!
Hope this clears it up - if you ever visit England make sure you try this meal with mushy peas

Yes, the chippy is an important part of British day to day life. 99% of people or families will have a "Chippy tea" night where they perform the weekly or in some cases bi weekly ritual of going to the chippy for the same thing every visit.

I am glad to have made the choice to return to my XJ8, although I'm not using it full time again just yet. I'm still using my X Type at the moment as I've had to use it's spacious estate interior to lug a load of rubbish to the tip or waste dump as they say in USA.

I've already put together a little list of things I need to do to my XJ, but luckily they are small and easy things to do. One of the main things is to get an MP3 Aux installed finally. Whilst I'm on the subject of that, have there been any developments there?

I was going to ask the same question as ive had my car for a month now and I need to find a way of adding an aux without having to get a new head unit.

Lovely looking XJ by the way, same year, colour and wheels as mine.
