Default Help finding a previous post

Some time ago, I came across a post where some clever guy had taken apart his CD Changer in the boot, and modified it to play his favorite music from his iPhone/Android/iPod by extending RCA connections and cable through to the center console as an AUX input from his device. I do remember reading he had experienced a 'stuck CD' cassette or something, and on freeing it out I think he showed a picture of the offending Lady Gaga CD? He also described "No CD" being displayed on the Head Unit but it still played his mp3/4 music.

The thread included pictures of each step in taking apart the unit, right down to showing which internal wires carried the audio signals (a light blue and slightly darker blue if I remember correctly..plus the black common cable?).

I would like to do this MOD on my car, but for the life of me I cannot find the Post, with its instructions, among all the other posts regarding this subject.

Can anyone help with where I will find this post?

This looks helpful but it's not the specific Post I was hoping to find. I'll have a closer read and make sure it's the same as mine. Most I've read refer to a Blue wire and a Green one, I thought they were both blue just different shades of Blue? Many thanks for your help though :-)

Thanks to clyons & CharizO for your reply. I think I can probably do the MOD I want using the link you sent, though it's not the one I was looking for. The one I refer to shows pictures of every step in stripping down the CD Unit, as I said, even a picture of the jammed CD found when freeing the CD cassette out.

I think I will proceed with using the link you sent, try it and see if it works. If not, I have a spare CD Unit I'll put in and go down the route suggested 'ericjanson' (I owe so much to this guy for his help on other issues) and fit a Parrot, clean and simple?

Would still be interested to save the thread on my drive if anyone comes across it though!

For future reference, Google is the best way to find an elusive post:

The relevant post comes up fourth in the list:

GGG, you're a superstar, that's the post I wanted. I think I might have to own up to being stupid here, I have looked at this post a scrolled through it already, then dismissed it as not being the one. My stupid head must have been on, I didn't notice the 'Page 2'.

Many thanks to all who contributed.

- The hack will also work if the CD is jammed, it actually does not matter.
Only the display message on the head unit will differ, either indicating a fault message, or a message it is playing the disk.
- If your car does not have a sub woofer, you can splice the audio wires under the rear seat cushion.
Saves a lot of work, shortens the wires substantially, and reduces the chance at rpm induced clutter.
