Help Please - Rear Hub Removal - Urgent
Omigawrd Dave...you didn't 'arf mangle the hub ;o))
When all else fails, hit it with a bigger hammer! ;o)=)
As with everything along these lines...there is a right way and a wrong way.
PLEASE!!.....TAKE NOTE of DonB's advice regards the nut....there are far too many people on here and other sites who consider they can get away with it
for the sake of a few measly bucks....WHAT PRICE YOUR LIFE??

In my case, ... Bigger the hammer, the better, ... I was hitting that hub for 5 days with a sledge hammer and it still wasn't coming off but got there in the end .. lol .... The other side came off with just a tap, .. Typical..!!
I have made my own pulley now, out of the hub I took off, I put the angle grinder to it and got 5 x manly nuts and bolts and made up my own pulley out of it if need be again. Plus I have that heavy monster 3 claw pulley anyway ;-)
As for Don's statement about getting a new hub nut, I totally agree, and I never hesitated in buying 2 x brand new hub nuts when doing both sides ;-)
I know this is a few years late but I purchased my axle nut on ebay for 27.99 qty 1, hope that helps others reading this post from now to later. I am going to pull my rear hub this weekend...wish me luck
