Here's hoping
Well I am new to this forum and I hope I am doing this right. I went out to start my car the other day, it started ran for few seconds and died. When I tried to start it again all I got was a weird whirling sound. When I looked out the windshield I saw a buff of smoke on the right side of the hood. A friend look at and thought the starter was bad. I put new one in, turns over no whirl sound wont start also slight hot burn smell....any thoughts guys..thanks for your time. Mike Frank, 1999 xjr
I would check the "false bulkhead" electrical connector and the fuse block connnectors under the hood. The bulkhead conne3ctor is the big black electrical connection on the side of the ecu box, near the right hood latch. Make sure the connection is clean and tight.
