Default Horn Problem '03 XJ8

Help; I have a problem with the horn blowing when it wants to. I first noticed it when accelerating from a stop (I thought someone was blowing their horn at me). It doesn't do it every time but seems to be more predominant when the car is warmed up a bit. It will just toot a little toot during acceleration (not necessarily hard acceration, just normal driving). Needless to say I am eventually gonna P.O. someone. No other controls seem to be affected (ie. cruise control). Has anyone run into a similar situation and if so how did you cure it? Thanks for any help you can share.

Remove the horn relay and see if it stops... if it does, replace the horn relay and see if it stays away - if so, good...

If not, then it's just about got to be a faulty horn switch in the steering wheel,

OR the Green/blue stripe wire from steering column to BPM that's chafed and shorting to body intermittently,

OR same (chafed, shorting to body) with the Green/white stripe wire between the BPM and the horn relay.

Last, least likely would be a bad BPM.

Default horn

Thanks, Sounds easy enough to try the relay. But I hate to ask but what's a BPM?
