Default How many xjr`s are left on the road?

I got a copy of a new magazine ( Modern Classics, issue 2 ), that on page 25, in an article about V8 super saloons states that there are only 370 X308 XJRs left on the roads of the UK!

This got me thinking, I know they built 15,203 XJRs, plus the 500 XJR 100s, How many are still on the road?

It also made me think how many were sold in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia etc...

Also got me thinking about the valuations the magazine put on these cars,

Concours £ 14,000
Good £ 8,000
Usable £ 4,000
Project £ 2,000

Would these figures roughly equate to US dollars, Euros, Australian dollars ?

Seems to me they would be more on the road, as but that's probably because I'm always searching.
What I don't understand is how little there value is.
A car (my XJR) that sold for $70,000 US new I bought for $1300. Not running of course. Then picked up the XJsport, not running of course.. $1000.
Yet a 1968 Mustang that they made 317,000 of, Which sold new for $3000 is now worth $30,000.. And never mind the 600.000 1965's and another 600,000 1966 and so on..

That seems awfully low! Here in the US these cars are a dime a dozen right now. In the last few years I have seen sellers ask more for their cars but they don't seem to be selling as I have seen the same cars for sale month after month. I think the x308 is one of the sexiest body styles Jaguar has ever made. Unfortunately, the x308 does have a few gremlins that scare people from ownership (chain tensioners) which probably aren't helping values.

I'd agree numbers seem low but.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ_(X308)

I bought mine from SSS Jaguars at the end of August 2011, a 1 owner car, full history and 99, 000 miles for £4000, knocked Richard Simms down from £4995.

As you said, a lot of car for the money!

If they built 15,203 then the article is perhaps not correct or is misleading.

There's a UK site where you can search how many of what are on the roads but I forget its url.

The figures came from Swansea, DVLA.

There are 370 XJRs Taxed, MOTd and Insured for the road in the UK.

Maybe. But I suspect not because the numbers are categorised somewhat weirdly.

E.g. just 2001 XJR auto there look to be about 1200. I'm not sure why they wouldn't be appropriate?

The website you're after is here:

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=Jaguar+XJR

Bearing in mind the many possible classifications, it looks like there's about 1950 still on the road, maybe a few more (of the X308 that is); and about 500ish X300s.
