Default How to Mount Skid Plate to Bumper Cover with Missing Tabs?

My 1998 VDP came with no skid plate. I guess the previous owner had a serious "nose meets ground" incident. Does anyone have experience mounting a skid plate to a bumper cover that has all the mounting tabs missing?

The one on my current car (before I fixed it right) and on my old Jaguar, they drilled holes in the bumper then attached the skid plate with plastic wire ties.

Yes you drill holes in the bumper and through the black tabs that extend over the inside of the bumper. Then i like to use the factory black push pin retainers. I did mine like this 11 yrs ago when i bought it and theyre still there holding tight and look factory

I think Brutal is referring to the push pins that fix the splash guards on the inside of the front wings, maybe a call to your nearest agent, they'll only be cheap, you'll need to pop the front bumper off for an easier install.

XR8 8883 you need about 12-15 and drill a 1/4" hole and no you dont remove the bumper. it just needs to be in the air to work underneath
