Default Identifying wiring harness with purple wire in trunk

I was cleaning the contacts in the trunk of y 99 XJR and I noticed there was a wiring harness with a big purple wire not connected to anything. Could anyone identify what its for and if it should be connected or if its just superfluous wiring for my specific car build?

I can see the white isolation wire in the background. The purple wire is common and has been identified as a switch control 12 volt accessory connector. E.G towing package, and I have even heard of a special electric cooler chest. Jaguar will have in a few locations extra plug that are not connected. They used only one harness for the series of cars and if an option wasn't ordered then there was nothing to plug into the connector, it was just free.
