If my fuel pump has failed wont I get a check engine light or something indicating low fuel pressure?

Thanks

No! If you had a failing fuel pump, you MIGHT get a lean run engine code, but there is no fuel pressure sensor to tell the ecu that pressure has failed. There is, however, a good test port on the X-308 to measure the pressure with a test gauge.

I can confirm that, shocking as it is, no code is thrown when a fuel pump fails.

I was cruising along at 60 MPH on a country road when, suddenly - pfffffft - I applied the accelerator and had no power and coasted to a stop. I carry an OBD-II code reader with me and there were none.

It was only after ruling out a wide number of other possible causes for "sudden engine stop" syndrome that it was determined to be fuel starvation secondary to a dead fuel pump.
