I found a replacement ECM with the exact part number and VCATS number as my car. I now need to perform an immobilization setup so that it will start the car.

My research on the forum indicates I will need WDS or IDS software to do this. Forgive my ignorance and please speak slowly when answering my questions.

Am I looking for a windows laptop with the software installed, and the appropriate cables? A handheld unit of some kind? There are no Jaguar dealers or independent shops for 200 miles. Is there a way the local Ford dealer could do this? Could they install the Jaguar software on their system and do the setup for me?

Will I be able to figure out how to do the setup, even if I had the tools? How much can I expect to spend to get the tools I need?

Any advice to point me down the right path will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
