Default knock sensor codes

ok, so i got the seat issue fixed and the air mass connector isue fixed, now i am intermittently getting a knock sensor high input bank 2 code thrown out.

i have an 03 xj8 with 73K miles.
we are running premium fuel..

i have read here that the issue could be connection related.. where are the knock sensors? i would like to clean the connections to see if this could be the culprit...

any other suggestions?

I see most of my knock sensor codes following coolant leaks that hit the connectors. Ive cleaned many and got so many back irritating customers for a return visit I dont bother anymore. I just replace them or the offender, there are 2, on top of both sides of the engine. between both center cylinder under the intake. super charged cars are no fun since theyre under the intercoolers. so for a owner and diyr, clean the connectors first never hurts but be prepared to replace. the connector na are on the sides of the t stat housing, and sc both go the brackets on the drivers side(US) forward cam cover

Here's a thread to check out. Also note that in the thread a guy gives a part number for the same NGK part (used by Jag) that you can get in the aftermarket and save $75.00.

Are these knock sensors the same 98 - 03? So that the NGK sensor could be used in any and all?

As posted in my FAQ - I ordered the knock sensors at www.autopartswarehouse.com, Item No W0133-1655837, $27.95.
I doubt that You'll find cheaper ones.
And they are genuine Denso parts (like the ones that originally came with your Jag.)

As long as you have the screw-on type knock sensors, they will fit.
AJ26 engines (1998) will probably have different (the barrel-type) knock sensors.
