Let's talk about the antennas!

I like the original aerial too, it's part of the car's era. I do think it goes too high though, my old one sat a little lower than the others though. I took it apart and discovered that the top section was rusted closed but the rest of it was ok. I left it like that because I liked the lower profile.
However if you are going to remove it, greverr has the best solution and has sealed up the hole. That looks great mate, I really like that.

No photoshop there 308 is generally my autoX # and I have gloss black numbers over classic circular flat black number plates giving sort of a ghost effect (I use white magnetic numbers at autoX). Trialed it experimenting between paint jobs and have left it, subtle and different, people seem to like the black ghosted look at events but my wife absolutely hates it and i'm not especially partial, just vinyl anyhow.

Its just an activation, do a site search here (highly recommend you copy the link, very useful site)... JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource ...search for "x308 electrical diagram" and you'll return some links. The first one "Jaguar XJ 1998" is what you want and will have a complete layout of the sound system. Yes, I could have just gotten you the direct link, but this will get you an idea of how that site works...I'm a big believer in practical application.

Well, first off your in the wrong forum, this is the XJ8 one. So you may want to repost there because someone there who may know if there is an issue and a fix. But offhand I'd disconnect it at the antenna base (if that year does that there?) and meter it out. You shouldn't have power continuously going there, it should shut off when you power down. I'd be suspect of your headset.

Thanks
Sorry about being on the wrong forum but I figured it would be a good place since antennas were being discussed. And your suggestion was correct.....I have never had any problems with the headset but I noticed today the radio is changing stations by itself! So I think it is time for a new head unit and I am pretty sure that will take care of my power antenna problems.

No issues amigo, its just that its probable your model may function differently than the XJ8 (the Ford years). Ford redid the electrical system, so I just want to be sure your getting knowledgeable advise.
