Well, unless you are an old man, the fun quotient for an XJR is pretty high- Heck, its fun even if you are an old man- like me!

The XJ8(R) is a proper Jaguar, Brown's Lane production, the X type isn't. Try both, then look for a very good XJ, a long wheelbase has added leg room in the back. Good Luck!

The VDP is a great luxurious long-wheel based car. The XJR is a great performance sedan. If you can find a supercharged VDP, that would be great, but I've heard they are fairly rare.

the XJR is the way to go in my view, the X-type with the 3.0 engine is 230 manufacturer rated horsepower, most of the X-types have the 2.5 engine which is 190 something manufacturer rated horsepower if I recall. The X-type is just a fancy ford mondeo. The X-type is a great car for what it is, probably one of the best all wheel drive four-door compact and relatively affordable cars available. but in my view the X-type could never give you the huge grin that you get as you accelerate faster than anyone who doesn't have an XJR thinks would be possible for such a car.

The XJR is a four door luxury monster of a car, 370 manufacturer rated horsepower, around 5 second 0-60 time, and if you get a 2002 or 2003 you end up with minimal problems.

I like me 2002 XJR quite a lot and would't trade it for any other car
