1998 Jag. xk8 has a loose door handle mount on L/H side. The door handle works fine, but when you open the door the whole thing is loose on the back side as if a screw is loose. Do I have to take the back panel off or is there any other options. Thank you

on the 96 XJ series there is a allen head in the bolt shank pointing at you from the inside as you remove the interior door panel . Suggest tie a string to a open end wrench as you tighten the nut on this allen head shank . Tie a string to the allen wrench also in case you drop it inside the door sheet metal . The 2 hardware setups clamp a clip into a ringed flange that must be seated correctly as you tighten up the assembly . May have to spray the hardware before hand as mine was corroded .
