Hello , question:

What would make loud acceleration engine sound while driving above 45 miles but quiet at idle?

It’s like Roaring that increases with acceleration.

Is it a failing muffler,
Catalytic converter, tire alignment or balancing ? Bearings.

Car drives fine, no vibration, no engine light
Tires look in good condition

I had a customer car that was unusually noisy when engine was operating at higher RPM while driving.
I finally found that the engine air filter cover clips were not secured and the box was slightly open.

I clipped it closed and the engine was quiet again.

 

The fuel pressure may drop at that speed
