Default Need starter install help please

I have a 99 Vandenplas need install info.I do not want to tow her to my shop so want to do the starter swap out in place at my condo but fast. Have shop floor jack here etc.

Own Classic auto been doing frame off restores for 40+ years but only 2nd Jag Ive owned (I love em) and never R+R a starter on the v8 before.I got her up and was ready to R+R it and it seems the top bolt has an excentricity to swap out so I dropped it and threw the floor jack and stands back in the jeep?

From what I gather may need a UJ and 2 extentions on 3/8 or 1/4 platform pos 6" and 3" with 13mm socket? Could anyone clarify the exact tools I will need for upper bolt and if any other issues may be required other than a general swap out .

We are NOT allowed to do anytype work here but my trans is 6 months old and I do not want to tow her so I am thinking a 15 or 20 min R+R and take the complaint from the community here.Thank you in advance for any help you may provide .

I've moved your post from General Tech to X308 where it should get more views and a faster response.

Whilst you're waiting, please post an Intro in New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to tell us a bit about yourself and your VDP.

I can see it is what I thought on that Diagram (very useful) but the 6" seems long to traverse the starter and the 12" seems long also but I will give it a try . I am going to mill out a more stable tool for this when I have the time. I think I will just grab these in just craftsman tools and run a couple tac welds to keep the system together.Strange R+R for 1 bolt for the starter.I have a half moon snap on just can not think how they are breaking it loose with that.To sears I go then to the welder .Thanks for the link. I am installing a Bosch starter I hope they are of fair quality I was told they were. I will stay off the air with this and go all hand for sure.
