Default New to Jaguars, what temperature do the cooling fans switch on? Manual ON possible?

Hello,

Long time watcher, first time poster. I would like to ask at what temperature do the radiator cooling fans turn on and is there a way to add an additional manual ON switch from inside the car. I have seen references to people doing this on this forum, but no explanation of how to.

Thank you,
Ed

96 celsius on, 91 off. Keep the ventilation on to have the fans active.

Why would you want to turn them on manually?

Worry.

Sitting in traffic in hot summer temps, I run with the heat full on, and the windows open.

I never have used aircon, due to the above mentioned worry.

I'd rather melt, than have a melt down.

That is a condition I can control.

Ridiculous I know, and not even logical.

But even in competition, it has worked for me with assorted LR etc.

Even my DD, has it's heater set to hot with new air.

I know, I'm a sad example.

I sometimes worry about not having enough to worry about. I'm also an agnostic dyslexic insomniac, so I lay awake at night wondering if there really is a doG.

If the engine sensor has determined the engine is not hot enough to need the fan(s), it seems to me that the engine is not hot enough to need the fan(s).

Or have I missed something?

Where did you find the reference? I know I've seen it but forgot where.

Being of the same generation as the XJS maybe some of the cooling aids could apply.

And if you had a temperature gauge that you trusted it would let you run normally.

On my tester... I seen also on the JTIS I think, recently, but it's more or less one degree.
