i have been a jag fan for sometime now and are thinking of trading cars. i am a car guy and have had everything under the sun. porsche new and old,bmws new and old,mercedes new and old. i have found a 98 xj8 that is in great shape at a dealer in ohio. i found it on ebay and i can get extended warranty from a reputable company for about $1300 for 3 years unlimited miles. the car has 42k miles and is $11,900 or offer. it is in excellent shape. white with tan. i know the tensioners need to be replaced but at what miles? and cost? i have had a few w126 mercedes so i am used to the chain tensioner problems. i have also read about the engine problems. what should i know about this. i see alot of really high miles jags so can i assume that it only happens on some models? any advise would be great.thanks
