2000 XJR Nicasil Serial Numbers
Is there an absolute way of determining if a 2000 XJR has a Nicasil engine, or one with steel liners. Some people say if the number starts with an F, it has the newer style engine. Does anybody know if this is true for a fact?
Here you're on Nikasil issue :
If the last 6 digits of the chassis number begins with an F, for example F12345, it will have the later safe engine
Jaguar V8 cars built with a Nikasil engine can be identified by the VIN number.
If the last six characters begin with an '8' the car was fitted with a Nikasil engine.
If the last six characters begin with an 'F' the car was fitted with a Steel lined engine
