Is this normal after transmission drain/fill?
Hi all,
I rear main seal was busted so I ended up changing it out and while at it I did a thorough transmission fluid flush. It was a success and everything is up to par. However, I am curious as to why the fluid changed color so soon. It was originally red and as I drove the car for a few days, it now already is a bit light tannish/gray (looks like an oil turning dirty as I recheck the level). Any ideas?
I drained everything out because I have the torque converter drain plug so all fluids were fresh and red. Doesn't smell burnt or different either. Is this normal? Thanks

there is way too much old crap in all of the convoluted passages of that trans to flush it all out. If it was black and ugly before than it s going to be dirty in a hurry. If it still looked reddish and kinda clean when you dropped the old ATF then of course it should stay red and pretty.
