I usually use Motorcraft FL2021 or WIX 51228 on 5,000 mile Oil Change Interval.

WIX touts the XP for much longer OCIs than the regular WIX filter.

regular wix doesnt have a mesh screen made of either metal or plastic its just the fibrous material im looking for the mesh screen backing does the motorcraft offer that screen? How about the factory jaguar oil filter is there a quality difference?

On the V6 engine, the Motorcraft IS THE OEM.

We got the filter from parts dept., opened the Jaguar box and removed a Motorcraft FL400S.

I figure if Ford owned Jaguar and used Motorcraft parts on occasion (many times a Ford part in a Jaguar box) then a common easily found filter obtained locally would work fine.
