I must be the odd one out here, my 2003 XJR is definitely American. Went straight from the factory to the USA, but it does have a code! Luckily for me, when I bought it, it came with all the manuals, papers and the little card with the code on it.

Call your local Jaguar Dealer, get onto the service department and give them your vin - they should be able to access your build sheet and get the code from there, punch in the 4 digit code when you turn the radio on, all is well from there. Also write it down on the handbook, as hard resets erase it.

US specs X308s do have radio codes. One time i got my radio locked, I went to my local Jaguar dealership with my ownership proof.

They gave me the code.

My original radio, 1999 Daimler Super V8, UK spec, Alpine No. AJ9800R, Jaguar LNC4100AA, with code.
I bought another radio on Ebay from USA, Alpine No. AJ9800A, Jaguar LNC4100BA, no code.

not exactly sure. You probably will not know you WILL need a code until the radio is locked.

I didn't know that until one day it was locked. I remembered it replaced my shifter assembly

Strange that some are locked and others are not.

Easy to know: after you reconnect the battery, the radio will display "ENTER CODE" if coded.
