Radio Code Help
I just got my title to my 1988 Jaguar the the radio needed to have the code entered. I took the title to my local Jaguar dealer and got the code. They gave me the code that has two 6's in it. The problem is there is no 6's on the radio. I called them back and they said they would look into it but they don't think they can help. Does anyone know what direction I should proceed to get the radio to work?
The radio model is AJ8700.
There was no manual with the car when I bought it and the sticker under the bonnet is mostly missing.
Thank You.

Sometimes someone who previously serviced the car will write the code somewhere under the hood in paintmarker, as I imagine it is a pain to look it up everytime you disconnect the battery. Mine had it. I've heard that you might have to pull the radio, get the serial number off of that and the vin and take to your dealer. Look the radio over good when you get it out, I've heard of one that had the code written on it, may have been a switch-out. Almost sounds like your car may have had the radio replaced at some time.

If the radio has ever been removed from the car, you may also find that someone has written the code directly on one of the radio's labels. Of course, to check this you will have to remove the radio from the car.
Is it possible that the '6' is entered using one of the other buttons, like the seek, tune, or am/fm buttons?
