Radio Code? RESOLVED
On the last couple of Jaguars I have owned, the radio code has been hand written in the Audio Manual.
This 2001 XJ8 Sovereign hasn't. I have checked all the handbooks, nothing. I contacted the previous owner who didn't know either.
As a safety measure whilst I drop the front subframe for a 'V' mount change, I was going to disconnect the battery.
Is it possible to obtain the code at all???
Thanks

If you give the local Jaguar dealer a call with your VIN number they should be able to provide you with the radio code. Note, there have been many reports of USA cars not requiring a radio code after an extended power loss but YMMV

I've never disconnected the battery when changing Vee Mounts on XJ40, X300 or X308 and it's probably being over cautious to do so.
As you know, your UK spec XJ8 is fitted with a coded radio. Many UK members have contacted their local Jaguar Dealer to request the code and I can only recall one recent instance of any suggestion of charging to look this up on the Direct Dealer Warranty System. This unlucky individual just rang the Dealer in the next nearest town and got the code from them f.o.c.! You may be asked to produce your V5C Registration Certificate as proof of ownership.
