Hello, 1st of all thanks for having me in your forum.
I have a 2001 xj8 v.d.p. S.c. W/ 49,000 miles.

I placed it in storage & disconnected the battery just over a year ago & due to circumstances ( i'm building a home) did not try to start it until last week.

When the car didn't start i began reading threads here on the j.e.f. & what i found was i had power to the fuel pumps but neither one was working. Long story short, i replaced both, picked the car up yesterday & it ran great!

Now to the problem. My radio will not power up. I checked the #9 fuse in the rear l. Kickboard & it has power. I went to the luggage compartment & found the #3 & 4 fuses have no power (although they are good fuses) i don't know if that is normal or not. Anyway does anyone have any suggestions?

These cars don't like to be stored. It is possible that your system voltage is still low. Have you driven it much since you got it going again? Maybe your battery is still low.

 

Have you downloaded the JTIS (shop manual) ? It contains the wiring diagrams so you can figure out where all the juice has to go to, to get to the radio.
