Default Range Rover Starter

Was walking down a parking lot when I heard a Range Rover 4.2 SC start up. Turned over super fast and sounded great, a lot higher pitched than our starters. My bud's XJR starter is dying and I wonder if you could transfer its guts to the jag housing as the motor and contacts are offset on the wrong side. There looks to be 3 different starters for the AJV8. The Land Rover 1.8Kw, the Jag 1.4Kw and a Ford PMGR (probably Bosch) version.

Jaguar starter

Land Rover starter. The electric motor on top of this starter would be the determining factor if it will physically fit as you can tell it looks to be another inch longer than the Jaguar starter.

Power leads are on the other side which is my other concern, might be able to maneuver them around before bolting it in.

It might be possible but there’s a good chance that it will contact the aluminum engine mount bracket. I’m not sure when I’ll have mine back on a lift so I won’t be able to measure it for at least a few weeks.
