On slowing to a stop in neutral I can hear / feel a dull bump from the rear of the car - dosen't happen when stopping in drive.
Local indy has had a look and can find nothing obvious.
- All half shaft U-joints replaced about a year ago and no sign of play in them
- Wishbone tie bushes appear in good condition
- Gearbox mount appears Ok
- slight play in rear wheels however, but no detectable noise when driving

Indy suggested maybe some play from the diff shaft bearing but couldn't confirm this...

Any suggestions welcome.

Does it happen when coasting, as opposed to using the brake?
Does it happen in reverse?

 

Dont know about reverse - will test that.
Noise happens just after gradual stop with gear in neutral....
