Rear flex disk replacement...does exhaust need to come out?
Howdy folks,
In my recent time under the car, i noticed some very minor surface cracking on my rear flex disk. The front one is totally fine. Is it possible to replace the rear disk without fully removing the shaft or having to remove the center muffler? I don't have any resonators in that area so there is tons of space, but not sure if the shaft collapses enough to get the prop shaft out of the coupler. Maybe if I lower the center support bearing?
Thanks.

To close the loop on this, I did both flex disks on my xjr without removing the exhaust.
Rear, you need to remove the center bearing plate bolts to get enough movement to clear the disk.
For the front, support tranny and remove trans mount. Then remove trans cross member bolts and slide the whole cross member back to give you access. No sweat. Easy job.
Also, the eurospares item are made in Germany genuine replacements so buy them for way less than the jag branded ones.

Where are you located, what's your car: fill the data in for the info block in the upper right corner. If your car is a 2004 XJ8, you would be better served in the X350/358 forum.

In addition to Jim's comment, let us know if you find a new center bearing. Check out this thread before searching: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-188400/page3/
The part number for the couplers is CBC8996.
