Hi, my mechanic spotted that these bearings were gone on my XJ81. They've been goosed for a long time and the HUB has worn against the wishbone.
will this be cosmetic or do I need a whole new one?
Your talking about two metal products rubbing against each other for quite a time. I'd suggest you go to a junkyard and do some comparing with a micrometer and sourcing possible replacement parts while there. I'd also watch the video KC provided in post #15 just to get an idea of the parts in that area that will also wear and may be gone. Check https://www.car-part.com/ for the parts and/or full on assemblies as well...there are other sources for yards.

I suspected this might be the case and have found replacement parts just incase. I was hoping that it would just be cosmetic damage and wouldn't affect the integrity of the parts too much.
cheers
Yeah, mine are the ccc3598.
they aren't available anywhere.
I was hoping that it was an insignificant change and that the 2 part numbers were interchangeable as the other type, "CAC9483P" are available
They look the same to me, and are advertised as fitting an XJ40
but I know it doesn't work quite like that.
